I. INTRODUCTION
This document contains the Privacy Policy of Bossa Nova Robotics, Inc. (“we”, “us” or “Bossa Nova”). Mechatars is a consumer toys brand of Bossa Nova. Your access to, and use of, www.mechatars.com (the “Site”) is subject to the Terms of Use. Bossa Nova has created this Privacy Policy to explain what information we gather from you when you visit the Site, how Bossa Nova may use this information, and the security measures Bossa Nova uses to protect your information. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and made part of the Terms of Use. This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information collected offline. By using the Site, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If Bossa Nova decides to change the Privacy Policy, a revised policy will be posted on this page. Use of the Site following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy then in effect. The revised policy will apply only to information collected on or after the date the revised policy is posted.
II. INFORMATION COLLECTION
Bossa Nova collects both personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information. Bossa Nova collects information from you when you register on the Site, place an order, use customer support, surf the Site, or participate in any feature of the Site. When ordering or registering, we may ask you for your name, date of birth, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other information. We may also ask you to create a username and password to set up an account. You may, however, visit the Site without providing such information.
Like many websites, the Site uses "cookies" to enhance user experience and gather information about users and visits to the Site. Please refer to the “Cookies” section below for information about cookies and how Bossa Nova uses them.
III. INFORMATION USE
Bossa Nova may use information collected to:
- analyze trends
- administer the Site
- track user activities
- infer user interests
- otherwise induce, deduce, and gather information about individual users and market segments.
- personalize a user’s Site experience
- deliver the type of content and product offerings in which a user is most interested
- better respond to customer service requests
- quickly process user transactions

IV. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY POLICY
Currently, Bossa Nova does not require children under the age of thirteen (13) to provide their own personal information when registering a Mechatar on the Site. We only require a child to provide non-identifiable information (such as date of birth, username, and password) and a parent or guardian’s email address so we can notify the parent about the child’s account. Bossa Nova is prohibited by law from requiring a child to disclose more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity as a condition of participation.
If you are under the age of 13, we will not maintain or use any personal information about you or allow you to access features that may allow you to share personal information publicly, unless we have first obtained verifiable consent from your parent or guardian.
If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personally identifiable information to us without the appropriate consent, we will take all reasonable measures to delete such information from our databases and not use the information for any purpose (except where necessary to protect the safety of the child or others as required by law).

V. THIRD PARTIES
Bossa Nova does not disclose or sell to third parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described herein. The term "third parties" does not include partners of Bossa Nova such as website hosting partners and other parties who assist Bossa Nova in operating the Site, conducting our business, or servicing you, as long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. In the event that Bossa Nova is sold, or its assets are otherwise transferred, Bossa Nova may provide your information to the purchaser. We may also release your information to third parties when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce the Site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.
Non-personally identifiable user information may be summarized and provided to third parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
VI. INFORMATION CORRECTION

VII. COOKIES
Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our Site visitors. These service providers are not permitted to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve our business.

VIII. SECURITY MEASURES
Bossa Nova follows generally accepted industry security standards to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access of, maintain data security of and correctly use such personally identifiable information. However, no commercial method of information transfer over the Internet or electronic data storage is known to be 100% secure. As a result, Bossa Nova cannot guarantee the absolute security of that information during its transmission or its storage.
Bossa Nova utilizes Platform Partners to complete credit card transactions. These Platform Partners are solely responsible for collecting, storing, securing and expunging credit card data.
Because Bossa Nova takes privacy and data security seriously and endeavors to comply with all applicable laws governing the use and disclosure of users’ credit card and other personally identifiable information data, Bossa Nova only engages in partnerships with Level 1 PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliant service providers. Bossa Nova does not directly collect, store, secure or expunge credit card data.
IX. THIRD PARTY LINKS
This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the Site. However, the Site may include links to third party websites . These linked websites have separate and independent privacy policies. Bossa Nova has no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked websites. Nonetheless, Bossa Nova seeks to protect the integrity of the Site and welcomes any feedback about these linked websites (including if a specific link does not work). XI. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California’s "Shine the Light" law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family or household use are entitled to request and obtain from Bossa Nova once a calendar year information about the user information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of user information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which Bossa Nova shared user information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2010 will receive information regarding 2009 sharing activities).

Bossa Nova will provide the requested information to you at your e-mail address in response. Not all information sharing is covered by the "Shine the Light" requirements and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.
